Concrete pumping at the New Elanco Headquarters in Downtown Indy
The Elanco Animal Health, Inc. is currently building its new headquarters in downtown Indianapolis which will transform the Indianapolis skyline. Shelby Materials, in partnership with FA Wilhelm, Bowen Engineering and Aldridge Electric, is presently hard at work on this comprehensive undertaking. Shelby’s contracts are currently for 21,000 yards and this continues to grow as the project comes into focus.
Elanco’s new headquarters, which will be situated on the White River’s west side, is rejuvenating the former General Motors Stamping Plant location and will occupy 45 acres. The primary office building will have six stories and boast a 220,000 square foot offering. This is intentionally smaller than Elanco’s previous headquarters – by 25% – as the company desires to minimize its global footprint while capitalizing on the opportunity to support its Innovation, Portfolio and Productivity (IPP) strategy. Elanco’s goal is to positively impact employees, the community, and stakeholders.
Along with The City of Indianapolis and the State of Indiana, Shelby Materials is thrilled to welcome Elanco into the city and have provided numerous avenues of support. In return, Elanco’s presence is expected to not only add to the Indianapolis skyline but also to retain and create jobs for Hoosiers over the next decade. Local residents of the Valley neighborhood can expect to enjoy increased recreation opportunities via a new corridor suitable for walking and biking; and, new transportation routes will be coming to the area as well, connecting the Valley to the Circle.
Elanco expects this undertaking to be complete in two to three years.
