PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In fourth quarter of 2023, The Reyes Holdings building for its subsidiary, Monarch Beverage was completed. This project was built by Lauth Group Inc. and consisted of a 450,000 sq. ft. building on 150 acres.
Lauth Group Inc. used Trace Construction and Elbrecht Concrete to place the nearly 21,500 cubic yards of ready mix concrete supplied by Shelby Materials. Of that total, the 8” slab on grade made up 10,200cu. yds. and the 8” exterior concrete made up 6,200 cu. yds. This project wrapped up in late November.
The design and execution of this project had to take into account the remaining contaminants that were left on the site. A special MonoShield and TerraVent vapor system was used under the building slab to ensure no harmful vapors would be transmitted into the new structure. By making more delicate turns and avoiding vents from the system, the laser screed and concrete trucks were able to navigate the building much like normal slab pours despite the added challenge.
The 4000 PSI requirement was met with straight cement mixes in conjunction with Element E5 internal cure and liquid fly ash (LFA). By using LFA we were able to save over 400 tons of cement on the project which greatly reduced the carbon footprint and greatly added to the sustainability aspect along the reutilization of the site.
