Shelby Materials is proud to be a part of the construction plan to improve infrastructure in Franklin Township on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
This fast-growing location just outside of I-465 required several updates to roadways to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time in the area.
In the year 2019, Franklin Township initiated a four-year infrastructure plan. Shelby Materials was a part of the new roundabouts installed through a $3 million Indianapolis Department of Public Works project. Shelby partnered with Rieth Riley on this exciting project. The infrastructure plan, which totals $400 million, also includes additional road construction, bridge work and improvements to pedestrian safety. Roundabout locations include:
- Arlington Avenue at Edgewood Avenue
- Franklin Road at Edgewood Avenue
- Franklin Road at Thompson Road
- Arlington Avenue at Shelbyville Road
