Unusual circumstances can sometimes require unique solutions. Construction projects sometimes require more than the normally capable production of concrete, or the project may be located in a rural area that can’t be logistically supported enough for consistent reliable delivery. When that situation occurs, producers turn to portable Indiana mobile concrete plant as a solution.
What is a ‘portable’ concrete plant you ask?
Shelby Materials Indiana Mobile Concrete Plant
A portable concrete plant is a typically smaller version of a permanent batching plant. The mobile plant can be transported by semi and trailer and be set up on a footprint as small as 2-3 acres. The plant only requires electric, water and space to store raw materials. Other amenities can be added for additional needs on a project by project basis. The Hendricks County Gateway 2 project in Indiana is one of those projects where a portable mobile concrete batching plant is the perfect solution. We are proud to be able to support Trace Construction with the concrete needs for this project.
The project is located near the Monrovia exit of I-70, 15 miles West of I-465 and will require 32,000 yards of concrete in both interior slab and exterior pavement applications. Delivering concrete to this area traditionally would require a large amount of trucks from any provider. Placing a portable batch plant on site reduces the mixer truck demand by 70%.
This specific mobile concrete batching plant is produced by BMH Systems. The plant itself is an EG-10 model. Shelby Materials have 2 of these plants ready to serve our clients.
