Project Description
Columbus Regional Hospital has a long history that includes numerous awards for providing the highest quality patient care. Though the hospital dates back to 1917, the original characteristics have been preserved amid updates that keep the facility current. It’s a challenge that requires a construction team dedicated to the quality the hospital expects and that understands how to keep them up and running during complex renovations and additions. Columbus Regional Hospital turned to Pepper Construction for its current project through a design-build delivery and Pepper turned to Shelby Materials for their Ready Mix expertise. The hospital is adding 29,000 square feet of emergency department space, with vertical expansion capability, a 9,400-square-foot cancer center expansion and an 8,000-square-foot loading dock building with an underground tunnel to the existing hospital. The project also includes renovations to the existing hospital space.
